STL is the universal 3D-print format — it's what your slicer wants. To print a physical model of a home from its plan, the real work is turning the 2D drawing into an accurate 3D model; getting from there to STL is the easy last step.
The honest workflow
Extruda exports your plan as a 3D model in OBJ, glTF/GLB, and .blend. STL is one conversion step from any of those — we don't claim a native STL button; we do the hard part (reading the plan into accurate geometry) and hand you a model that's ready to convert.
- Upload your 2D floor plan (image, PDF, or scan).
- Convert it to a 3D model and export OBJ or .blend.
- Open it in Blender (or a converter) and export STL.
- Check it's watertight, scale it, and send it to your slicer.
Making it printable
- Watertight mesh — no holes; walls need real thickness, not zero-width planes.
- Scale — set a printable size (a whole floor often prints well at 1:100 or 1:50).
- Manifold check — Blender's or your slicer's mesh check flags problem edges before you waste filament.
