What is Extruda?
Extruda is an AI tool that converts a 2D floor plan — an image, PDF, or scan — into editable 3D geometry, CAD and BIM files (DXF and IFC), furnished renders, and Blender-ready models. It reads walls, rooms, doors, and windows automatically, so you skip days of manual redrawing.
What file formats can I upload to Extruda?
Extruda accepts plan images (PNG, JPG, WebP), one-page PDFs, and scans, up to 30 MB. A PDF is one floor plan, like an image, so give each floor its own page. Cleaner input reads more accurately, but the in-browser editor lets you fix anything the AI misses.
Do I need CAD software to use Extruda?
No. Everything happens in your browser — no AutoCAD, Revit, or Blender license required. When you're ready, Extruda exports to DXF and other formats you can open in the CAD tool of your choice.
Does Extruda export to AutoCAD, Revit, and Blender?
Yes. Extruda exports DXF and IFC: layered DXF for AutoCAD and other CAD tools, and IFC for Revit and other BIM tools. It also exports OBJ, glTF/GLB, and .blend files for Blender and other 3D tools. DWG export is coming soon.
Can Extruda convert a PDF floor plan to DXF?
Yes. Upload a one-page PDF floor plan and Extruda detects the walls and rooms, lets you refine them, and exports clean, layered DXF geometry ready for CAD. Multi-page PDFs aren't accepted, so upload each floor as its own one-page PDF.
How accurate is Extruda's auto-detection?
Clean, straight-on plans read best, but a read can still get things wrong, like a missed wall or a misread dimension. Extruda asks you to check every drawing against your plan and approve it, and you fix anything it missed in the editor before you export. We don't publish an accuracy figure.
Who owns the plans I upload to Extruda?
You do. Your uploaded plans and their exports are yours; Extruda does not sell or share them.
Does Extruda handle renovation and construction project management?
Yes. Beyond turning plans into 3D and CAD, Extruda gives contractors tools to quote a job from the plan, track progress, and share updates — and lets clients follow along, give feedback, and sign off. It's included in the Studio, Realty and Enterprise plans.
