Who's behind Extruda

Extruda is an AI tool that turns a 2D floor plan — an image, PDF, or scan — into editable 3D geometry, CAD files (DXF/DWG), furnished renders, and Blender-ready models. It's built on one conviction: a floor plan should become geometry you can actually work with, not just a prettier picture.

The founder

Amr Tawfik is Extruda's founder and writes the guides on this site. Extruda started from a practical frustration: getting a plan that exists on paper or as a picture into a usable digital form meant either days of manual redrawing or tools that hand back a locked render. Extruda is the tool that closes that gap — and while it's in early access, Amr personally onboards every user and reads every reply.

How we work

• Honest framing. Features that are rolling out are labeled early access — we don't claim capabilities before you can use them.
• Fair comparisons. Our tool comparisons state what competitors do well and when they're the better choice.
• Editable over impressive. Real exportable files — DXF/DWG, OBJ, glTF, .blend, SVG — not screenshots.
• Honest limits. AI conversion is a fast head start, not a survey. For permitting or construction, final drawings should be based on verified measurements.
