You have a floor plan as a picture — a photo, a PDF, a scan — and you need to change something. The problem: you can't edit a picture. The fix is to turn it into editable geometry first, where walls and rooms are objects you can move. Here's the workflow.
The workflow
- Upload the plan as an image, PDF, or scan.
- Let AI detect it — walls, rooms, doors, and windows become editable objects (this is vectorization).
- Refine in the editor — fix any misread wall, straighten lines, adjust rooms. No CAD license needed.
- Export — CAD (DXF/DWG), a 3D model, or any other format.
What "editable" lets you do
- Move, add, or remove walls — and the rooms update with them.
- Resize and relabel rooms, or combine them.
- Reposition doors and windows.
- Keep accurate measurements as you go.
Editable geometry vs a render vs CAD

One honest note: AI gives you a fast, accurate-enough starting point on clean plans, and you correct the rest in the editor. For permitting or construction, base final drawings on surveyed measurements — the conversion is a head start, not a survey.
